In Firefox, after uploading a file the "in queue" message is stuck and the browser is not updated

      In Firefox, after uploading a file the "in queue" message is stuck and the browser is not updated.  This problem does not happen in Chrome.  In may also be happening in Explorer but that has not been verified.

      Steps to reproduce:

      1. Use Firefox
      2. Select a medium file to upload (the user uploaded a PDF)
      3. Complete minimal metadata
      4. Submit
      5. The "in queue" message is usually stuck
      6. Sometimes the resource count will increment properly
      7. After 30 seconds refresh the browser
      8. The uploaded resource will be visible
